Military Operations Displace Thousands in the West Bank
The UN agency "UNRWA" announced the displacement of over 12,000 Palestinian children in the West Bank amidst ongoing raids and military operations.
News Center – Since January 21, 2025, Israeli forces have continued a military operation in the northern West Bank dubbed the "Iron Wall," starting from Jenin camp and expanding to Nur Shams and Tulkarm camps, amid continuous incursions.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated on Monday, January 5th, that over 12,000 Palestinian children are living in a state of forced displacement in the West Bank due to the ongoing Israeli military operation in the northern governorates.
Israeli forces are imposing a siege on the three camps—Jinin, Nur Shams, and Tulkarm—accompanied by widespread destruction of infrastructure, homes, and shops, leading to the displacement of about 50,000 Palestinians, according to official data.
The agency explained in a post on the platform "X" that the affected children continue to face difficult humanitarian conditions under the ongoing siege and destruction witnessed in the Palestinian camps in the northern West Bank. It noted that since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023—which lasted two years—Israeli forces and settlers have intensified their crimes in the West Bank, including killing citizens, demolishing homes, and displacing their residents.
