Abdullah Öcalan commemorates Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun

News Center- The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) held its 12th Congress between May 5 and May 7, 2025 over the “Call for Peace and Democratic Society” by Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan. On May 12, the PKK announced in the final declaration of its 12th Congress that Ali Haydar Kaytan (Fuat) was martyred on July 3, 2018, and Rıza Altun was martyred on September 25, 2019.
The Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan sent a message from the prison island of Imrali about the 12th Congress of the PKK and the martyrdom of Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun. The message was read at the memorial service for Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun on Tuesday.
The message read by Faik Özgür Erol of Asrın Law Office is as follows:
“Dear Comrades,
I have learned of the martyrdom of Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun with great sadness.
I would like to express my deepest condolences and respect for their memory, with the intention of conducting a comprehensive assessment in their honor afterwards.
Their space in our struggle for national existence and democratic communalism is permanent
They will forever play their roles as fundamental inspirational values in the paradigm and institutionalization of the new era.
They will live on in our struggle as permanent pathfinders.
I would like to take this occasion to salute the decisions taken at the historic 12th Congress and the messages for the upcoming period with respect.
