OCHA: The blockade of Gaza has put 2.1 million lives at risk

The blockade imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip has put 2.1 million lives at risk, said the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

News Center- At least 15 Palestinians, including five children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the Fatima Bint Asad School, hosting displaced people in Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Monday.

A number of civilians were killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting a house near the Hamad al-Hasanat Mosque, west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

2,749 Palestinians have been killed and 7,706 others injured in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli army resumed its attacks on March 18, 2025 and 52,829 Palestinians have been killed and 119,554 others injured in Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

“The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is beyond imagination,” the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said in a post on social media platform X on Monday.

“Air strikes, blockades, and starvation continue, with tens of thousands killed and injured. Displaced families face collapsing infrastructure, sewage overflows, and empty markets. The siege must be lifted to ensure vital humanitarian and commercial supplies reach Gaza.”
