New Developments in Gulistan Doku Investigation Following Additional Arrests

The investigation into the disappearance of Gulistan Doku has entered a new phase following new arrests in Ankara and fresh judicial proceedings against previously identified suspects in the case.

Amed (Diyarbakır) — Investigations continue into the disappearance of university student Gulistan Doku , who went missing in the city of Dersim in Northern Kurdistan, amid ongoing security and judicial operations surrounding the case.

Recent data in the Gulistan Doku file indicates that the investigation has entered a new phase with the ongoing security operation carried out by Turkish authorities under orders from the Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Security forces had previously detained 15 individuals during a second wave of operations conducted on July 21, before announcing today, Thursday, July 23, the arrest of two more individuals in synchronized operations in the capital, Ankara.

According to statements issued by the Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Emre İzertaş, an employee at ACA Information Systems, and Sefa Karasu were taken into custody this morning under prosecutor-issued warrants.

Digital Forensics Uncover New Data

In an official statement, the Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office clarified that investigations regarding digital evidence seized during the proceedings uncovered new data linked to Tuncay Sonel, the former governor of Dersim.

The prosecution emphasized that investigations remain ongoing, noting that digital evidence analysis forms a primary pillar in uncovering the circumstances surrounding Gulistan Doku's disappearance and establishing potential legal liabilities.

New Detention Orders Issued for Earlier Suspects drew significant attention from observers

In connection with these new developments, the prosecution announced that the list of suspects subject to judicial procedures has expanded to include Emre İzertaş and Sefa Karasu, alongside previous suspects Tuncay Sonel, Şükrü Eroğlu, and Gökhan Ertürk.
