‘The attacks target the gains of the women’s revolution’
“The Kurds will resist everywhere,” said Rojda Osman, stressing that the attacks on North and East Syria target the gains of the women’s revolution.
RONÎDA HACÎ
Hasakah- Following the attacks of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) on the Syrian city of Aleppo, the Turkish state and Turkish backed factions attacked the Afrin/Shahba canton, hosting thousands of displaced people of Afrin. Meanwhile, the Turkish state kept attacking Manbij and Til Temir, also known as Tell Tamer. On Sunday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) declared mobilization against the attacks in northwestern Syria. On Monday, the Peoples’ Assembly of Afrin/Shahba issued a written statement, announcing that they decided to evacuate civilians in the areas besieged by the Turkish-backed factions in order to “protect civilians from a possible massacre”. Following the announcement, 200,000 displaced people of Afrin and thousands of Arabs left Shahba and Aleppo countryside to Tabqa and Raqqa.
‘Their aim is to slaughter the Kurdish people’
Rojda Osman, member of the Democratic Society Academies, believes that the aim of the recent attacks is to divide Syria. “The people of North and East Syria have been struggling, resisting and facing forced displacement for 12 years,” she said. “The recent attacks on Aleppo, Shahba and Til Temir aim to slaughter the Kurdish people.”
‘The attacks are against the gains of the women’s revolution’
Rojda Osman thinks that the Syrian government does not fulfill its duties and responsibility, waving the way for the recent attacks on Aleppo’s Shahba region and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood. “We must resist and protect ourselves and our system. The recent developments pose a risk to all people in Syria. The Damascus (Syrian) government's refusal to accept dialogue with the Autonomous Administration paved the way for massacres and attacks. The Damascus government has failed to protect people from the attacks on Aleppo, Shahba region and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood. The occupying Turkish state benefits from the attacks to realize Misak-ı Millî (National Pact). The attacks on Aleppo, Shahba region and Sheikh Maqsoud are the attacks against the gains of the women’s revolution.”
Call on international community
The aim of the attacks is to divide and slaughter the Kurdish people, Rojda Osman emphasized. “The attacks are a plan aiming to break the resistance of the displaced people in Shahba. They aim to displace them again. But the people of North and East Syria will always resist. The Kurds will resist everywhere for their rights. I call on the international community and organizations to raise their voices against the attacks.”
