News Center- The Peoples’ Assembly of Afrin/Shahba, a canton in northeastern Syria, has issued a written statement regarding the intensified attacks of the Turkish state and Turkish-backed factions on Tell Rifaat, a city in north of Aleppo.

“The Turkish state and Turkish-backed factions have intensified their attacks on Tell Rifaat. The Afrin Liberation Forces have displayed a relentless resistance to protect our people,” the statement said. “We have decided to evacuate the areas besieged by the Turkish state and Turkish-backed factions in order to protect innocent people from a possible massacre. We would like to emphasize that the evacuation does not mean that we have given up the fight to liberate Afrin. In recent years, we have endured all the difficulties in camps and our fight will continue even stronger in the future. We will do our best to liberate our lands from invaders. We thank the Afrin Liberation Forces for protecting us and making sacrifices so that we could have a safe life with dignity.”
