Kongra Star: Women will not take a step back from their struggle for freedom

“Women will not take a step back from their struggle for freedom,” Kongra Star said in a written statement condemning the killing of Kerem Ehmed in a Turkish drone attack near Tishreen Dam on Wednesday.

News Center- A Turkish drone attack targeted a civilian convoy heading from the Raqqa, Jazira, Tabqa and Euphrates cantons of North and East Syria to the Tishreen Dam to protest the attacks of the Turkish state and Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) on the dam on Wednesday, killing five civilians, including Kerem Ehmed, one of the managers of the Zenûbiya Women’s Community, and injuring 15 civilians.

“The attacks of the Turkish state on women in North and East Syria are human rights violations,” Kongra Star said in a written statement on Thursday, stressing that Kerem Ehmed was one of the managers of the Zenûbiya Women’s Community. “Martyr Kerem made great efforts to build a society based on democracy, justice and equality. This massacre is a crime against humanity, an attempt to silence women. The silence of the international community against rights violations of the Turkish state poses a threat to regional security and it will pave the way for Türkiye to commit more crimes.”
