Call for struggling against discrimination policies
All-women universities project is a part of discrimination policies against women, HDP MP Dersim Dağ called for struggling against discrimination policies carried out against all segments of life, particularly against women.
İstanbul – Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Young Women’s Coordination held a press conference in the building of HDP Istanbul Headquarters against all-women universities project that has been included in the program of Turkey’s Council of Higher Education (YÖK) after the directive of AKP's leader and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Many women and HDP MP Dersim Dağ attended the press conference.
HDP MP Dersim Dağ talked at the press conference and she underlined that the project is not accepted by women. “This isolation policy, which the President has added to his "to do" list, has built limits for all women. We know that they use the education system to create obedient women. We know how women will be educated by these universities.”
HDP Young Women’s Coordination member Esengül Kılıç also talked at the press conference and she said all of the policies carried out by the AKP government since 2002 are misogynistic policies. Noting that every change made in the education system aims to take women away from educational life more, Kılıç called for struggling against discrimination policies carried out against all segments of life, particularly against women.
