News Center — New information based on documents obtained by JINNEWS has revealed a number of unauthorized inquiries conducted through the POL-NET system regarding student Kolistan Doku, shortly before her disappearance and on the very day she went missing.

According to the documents, several police officers and security personnel who are part of the ongoing investigation into Kolistan Doku's disappearance carried out searches and inquiries into her personal data through electronic police systems, despite the absence of any clear legal justification for these queries.

These developments come as the judicial investigation into Kolistan Doku's case continues, with 18 people detained on July 27 in an operation carried out by the Erzurum Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the investigation into the case.

The data showed that the majority of those detained belong to security agencies, and that some of them used the POL-NET system on different dates to access information related to Kolistan Doku.

One document obtained by JINNEWS indicates that a police officer working at the address registration office of the Dersim Police Directorate queried her national ID number on November 25, 2019, via the POLCEP application under the security unit of the POL-NET system — about two months before Kolistan Doku's disappearance.

The document also reveals that the same officer returned to query Kolistan Doku's data several more times afterward, conducting four searches between 08:08 and 08:47, in addition to another search on December 4, 2019, at 17:49.

Searches on the Eve of the Disappearance and the Day She Went Missing

According to the documents, another officer conducted a search in the police system for Kolistan Doku on the evening of January 4, 2020, at 22:41 — just one day before her disappearance.

Records also show that an officer working at the command of the Martyr Nahit Bulut police station group in Dersim's city center logged into the system on January 5, 2020 — the day Kolistan Doku disappeared — and searched for her at 23:35 using her Turkish national ID number.

This search raised further questions, particularly since it was carried out without entering any information in the field for the reason of the inquiry, while the system's results displayed sensitive data including ID card details, driver's license information, private security records, criminal record information, and passport photos.

The documents also indicate that the same officer did not stop at a single search, but conducted several repeated inquiries through the system that same day.
