Journalist Hana Shevan: Women Working in Media Must Unite Their Forces
Journalist Hana Shevan stressed the necessity for women working in the media field to unite their forces and talents and move together, calling on women to convey their voices more strongly and put the problems they face on the agenda.

SULAYMANIYAH_At a time when women shine with great potential in the fields of media and journalism, masculine culture and societal obstacles constitute an obstacle ot women's appearance in the media, expressing their opinions, and playing an effective role. Solidarity and unity among women working in the media feild constitute an important force to overcome these obstacles, convey women's voice more strongly, and transfer their issues and demands to public opinion, In this regard, jounalist and president of the 'Women, Media, and Enlightenment" organization, Hana Shevan, made statements to our agency.
"There Are Courgeous Female Jounalists in the Field"
Hana Shevan explained that women face different restrictions and obstacles not only in the field of jounalism but in various areas of life. She noted that women collide with various obstacles from the moment they leave the house until they reach the workplace, adding that the nature of the workplace, its conditions, the signed contracts, and the journalistic field itself carry great obstacles for women. Despite this, she confirmed the existence of courageous female journalists working in the field, and drew attention to the fact that women assume prominent tasks in majour channels as correspondents, program presenters, and jounalists. She also stressed that unity and solidarity among women working in media are among the fundemental pillars of progress and success, and an important force for breaking masculine culture and defending women's voice.
"Unity Can Increase the Power of Women Working in Media"
Hana Shevan said: "Women working in the media field must show solidarity and support among themselves regardless of their workplace. Instead of each of us facing obstacles alone, we must express our demands and problems together. Because unity enhances the power of women working in media and enables them to influence decisions, public opinion, and society's orientations more effectively. but they must also search for causes and solutions. Through news, interviews, and media follow-up, we can make women's issues a subject of public discussion and create societal pressure for change and solution.

Hana Shevan mentioned that women's role is not limited to conveying their voices only, but they can also be a voice for marginalized and oppressed groups in society. She stressed the necessity of shedding light on the problems suffered by women who face legal pressures, great obstacles in practical life, those with special needs, or those deprived of work and education opportunities. She explained that female media professionals, throgh their better understanding of women's situation and the details related th their problems, are capable of conveying the voice of these groups. She also stressed that the media in general bears a grave reponsibility in conveying the voice of various marginalized groups and highlighting the importance and status of women in society.

Hana Shevan noted that women must empower themselves and move forward with courage and without fear, and concluded her interview by saying:
"In fact, many women have done so and stood out in the field. They can assume a beautiful role and function in media fields. They must develop their skills and capabities, and enhance their strength in conveying the voice; this is a fundamental need. Our society needs such discussions about legal and societal problems and violence directed against women. Issues such as femicide and suspicious death cases with burning materials mst be discussed in all their details. This discussion should not be limited to only two women, but should be a societal discussion in which specialists and experts participate.
