Youth of Shengal commemorate those who killed in attack on Kobanî
The youth of Shengal set up a tent to commemorate those who were killed in the Kobanî attack. The photographs of victims were hung in the tent.
Shengal- The youth of Shengal set up a tent to commemorate five people, who were killed in the Turkish attack on Kobanî on December 25, and issued a press statement.
“We promise to honor the memory of Viyan, Nujiyan, Rojin, and all our friends. We will take their revenge by struggling and organizing more, and we will keep their names alive in our struggle. As young women and the youth of Shengal, we condemn the attack,” said Berivan Kerîm, who read the statement.
Women and young people are targeted
The members of the Yazidi Free Women's Movement (TAJÊ) were among the first people, who visited the tent. During the visit, Niam Bedel, the coordinating member of the TAJÊ, said that the attacks on Shengal and Rojava target women and young people. “It should be known that we have the same enemy. Those who are the enemy of the peoples target the resisting peoples, women, and young people wherever they are in the world. All women and young people who demand freedom can respond to these attacks by growing their struggles,” Niam Bedel said.
Many activist women such as Macida Dexîl and Nazdar Hecî drew attention to the resistance of young women and commemorated killed five people in their speech.
