Dersim (Tunceli)- Azime Bozkurt, an employee of the pro-Kurdish Yeni Yaşam newspaper, was detained in a dawn house raid in Dersim on Thursday on charges of “Propagandizing for a (terrorist) organization” for distributing the newspaper in the city.

At the prosecutor's office, Azime Bozkurt denied the charges against her, saying that the Yeni Yaşam newspaper is a legal newspaper. Her lawyer Doğukan Kudat, also the head of the Dersim Bar Association, also said that the newspaper was a legal newspaper and that his client just distributed the newspaper. The prosecutor's office requested that Azime Bozkurt be released under judicial control.

Tunceli Criminal Court of Peace ruled the release of Azime Bozkurt under judicial control with a ban on travelling abroad.
