Taliban ban all women's beauty salons across Afghanistan
The Taliban have imposed a ban on all women’s beauty salons across Afghanistan. The Taliban’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice has issued a letter instructing the closure of beauty salons by 24 July.

News Center- Since the takeover in August 2021, the Taliban have intensified the repression on women and girls. Mullah Hibatullah Akhunzada, the Taliban’s supreme leader, has imposed a ban on all women’s beauty salons across Afghanistan.
The Taliban’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice has issued a letter instructing the closure of beauty salons by 24 July. This ban will leave hundreds of female beauticians, who earn a living from this business for their families, unemployed.
Since the Taliban takeover in 2021, women and girls have been deprived of their right to education and work.
