Nasrin Roshan was arrested by Iran’s security forces at Imam Khomeini International Airport on November 19, 2023, while attempting to legally travel from Tehran to her country of residence, the United Kingdom, for participating the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” protests that sparked in Iran following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini by Iran’s so-called “morality police” in September 2022.
