Iranian Security Forces Arrest Three Women and a Child During Protests
Iranian security forces arrested three women and a 14-year-old girl in the cities of Kermanshah, Harsin, and Tehran over the course of just three days of protests.
News Center –The recent arrests in Iran, particularly those carried out during the protests that have swept the country, have reignited debate over the state of public freedoms and human rights, amid growing concerns from rights groups about the possible tightening of penalties against some of the detainees.
According to human rights reports, security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran arrested Saba Khormaei, Somayeh Nazari, Servonaz Amiri—a 30-year-old physician living in Tehran—and Bahar Akbari, a 14-year-old child, within just three days of the protests.
These reports indicate that Bahar Akbari and Somayeh Nazari, both from Kermanshah, were transferred to a correctional center following their arrest. According to informed sources, Somayeh Nazari was charged with “waging war,” raising serious concerns about the possibility of harsh sentences being issued against her.
Saba Khormaei, a citizen from Harsin district in Kermanshah province, was arrested by security forces and transferred to the Kermanshah Correctional Center. Meanwhile, authorities also arrested Servonaz Amiri, a 30-year-old physician residing in Tehran, after raiding her home.
According to available information, the four citizens have been detained, and no further details have yet been disclosed regarding the reasons for their arrest or their legal status
