News Center- Iran’s security forces raid the home of Hasti Amiri, a former political prisoner, human rights defender, campaigner for students’ rights and a graduate student of law at Allameh Tabataba'i University, confiscating her electronic devices, including her laptop and mobile phone, journalist Reza Akvanian said Thursday in a post on social media platform X.
“On Wednesday, on the eve of International Women's Day, security forces of the Islamic Republic raided the home of former political prisoner Hasti Amiri and confiscated her personal belongings, including his laptop and mobile phone. Fortunately, she was not arrested,” the journalist wrote.
In October 2023, Hasti Amiri was sentenced to one year in prison by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran on the charge of “propaganda activities against state”. She began serving a one-year prison sentence on April 6, 2024. On August 4, 2024, she was released from prison after her lawyer’s request for retrial was accepted by the Supreme Court and her prison sentence was reduced to four months in prison on the charge of “propaganda activities against state.”
Upon her release, she held a picture of Pakhshan Azizi in front of Evin prison to protest the death penalty in Iran.
