Detained journalists in Konya released

Journalists Dilan Babat and Fırat Can Arslan, who were taken into custody yesterday while covering the funeral ceremony of Nagihan Akarsel in Konya, have been released.

News Center- Jinnews reporter Dilan Babat and Mesopotamia Agency (MA) Fırat Can Arslan were taken into custody while covering the funeral ceremony of Nagihan Akarsel, who was assassinated in Sulaymaniyah on October 4, in the Gölyazı (Xelikan) town of Konya’s Cihanbeyli district.

After their detention, politicians and lawyers tried to find out where the journalists were held. “They are not in custody, they are under observation,” soldiers told them. According to the received reports, the journalists were threatened by the regiment commander saying, “I will cut the ground from under you.”

After the questioning procedures, two journalists were released on the same day.
