6 women receive prison sentence for protesting appointment of trustee in Van
Six women have been each sentenced to one year and three months in prison for protesting the appointment of a trustee to the municipality of Van in 2019.

News Center- Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Van province Co-chair Yadişen Karabulak, Ayşe Minaz, Hatice Deniz Aktaş, Şehzade Kurt, Seher Kadiroğlu and Leyla Balkan stood trial on Wednesday for protesting the appointment of a trustee to the municipality of Van in 2019.
At the final hearing held at the Van 7th Criminal Court of First Instance, the prosecution requested the six women to be sentenced in prison on charges of “opposing the Law on Demonstrations and Marches No. 2911” while the lawyers of the women demanded the acquittal of their clients.
