Release of a woman and her two children amid escalating abduction incidents in Sweida
Souad Zarifa and her two children, who were kidnapped last May on the Damascus-Sweida Road by jihadists of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, have been released, while the fate of the father and the car driver remains unknown.
As-Sweida- Souad Zarifa and her two children were released after more than a week since their abduction on the Damascus-Sweida Road in Syria by HTS jihadists, while the Kidnappers still hold the children’s father, Raed Zein El-Din, and the taxi driver, Safwan Al-Qadmani.
The family was kidnapped in its entirety on May 25 popular anger, as residents organize continuous protests the Syrian interim government, demanding security control and accountability for those involved in the abductions.
Humani rights organizations indicate that the increasing security chaos makes civilians more vulnerable to violations, while the file of the kidnapped and missing remains open without clear solutions.
