At the age of 78, after a struggle with illness, death has claimed Kuwaiti artist Hayat Al-Fahd, one of the most prominent names in Gulf drama, following an artistic journey spanning decades during which she presented diverse works.

Today, Tuesday, April 21, Kuwaiti artist Hayat Al-Fahd, one of the most prominent icons of Gulf drama, passed away after a struggle with illness. With her departure, a brilliant chapter in the history of Arab art has been closed. She left a vast artistic legacy spanning decades, presenting timeless works that cemented her presence in the audience's memory. In her final years, she suffered from health deterioration due to complications from a catheterization procedure that led to a stroke, after which she was transferred to London for treatment before returning to Kuwait, where she passed away.

Hayat Al-Fahd held several titles, including "Lady of the Gulf Screen," "Dean of Gulf Drama," and "Mother of Theater." She was among the first contributors to the establishment of drama in the Gulf region. Her career was not limited to acting; she also ventured into dramatic writing and published a poetry collection titled "Reproach" in the late 1970s, reflecting the diversity of her creative experience and the richness of her artistic presence.

Hayat Al-Fahd was born in 1948 in the Sharq area of Kuwait and moved with her family to Mirqab when she was five years old, the same year she lost her father. Despite not completing primary education, she managed through her own efforts to master reading and writing in Arabic and English.

She first appeared in 1964 in the series "Bu Jasoum Family," beginning a long journey during which she became one of the most prominent stars of Gulf drama. She participated in dozens of television works, including "Jarh Al-Zaman" (The Wound of Time), "Thaman Omri" (The Price of My Life), "Ablah Noura" (Miss Noura), "Sayyidat Al-Bayt" (Lady of the House), as well as notable works such as "Al-Dayah" (The Midwife), "Al-Kharraz" (The Beader), "Al-Fariyyah" (The Lie), and "Quloub Mutahajjarah" (Petrified Hearts).

She also ventured into cinema and theater, presenting notable works such as "Sah Al-Nawm Ya Arab" and "Qannas Kheitan." In recent years, she appeared in successful series including "Hudoud Al-Shar" (The Borders of Evil) in 2019, "Umm Haroun" (Mother of Haroun) in 2020, and "Margareetk" (Your Margaret) in 2021.

The Al-Fahd Foundation for Artistic Production mourned artist Hayat Al-Fahd, affirming that her departure represents a great loss to the artistic scene and to one of the most prominent icons of creativity in the Gulf and the Arab world. It noted that she left an indelible mark on the memory of generations, as her name was associated for decades with high-level dramatic works and humanitarian and social issues that touched the conscience of the Arab viewer from ocean to gulf, making the news of her death a widespread shock in artistic circles.
