Tunisian tennis player Anas Jaber becomes the first African and Arab player to win WTI 1000 title after winning the Madrid Open.
News Center - After defeating Poland’s Iga Swiatek in two sets of 5-7 and 6-1 and (6-1) in the final 1/8 match on Monday, Tunisian tennis player Anas Jaber, in 10th place in the world, defeated the American Jessica Pegula, in 14th place, in two set to one, 7-5, 0-6, 6-2.
27-year-old Tunisian tennis player Anas Jaber becomes the first African and Arab player to win Warrior Tennis Invitational (WTI) 1000 title after winning the Madrid Open.
Anas Jaber won the second title in her career, after winning the Birmingham Championship last year.
She'll be a strong candidate to reach the final of the Roland Garros International, the second Grand Slam, which starts on May 22.
