Egypt Open Gold… Malak Amr Othman Continues Writing Her Success Story in Kung Fu
The road to the gold medal was not easy, but Malak Amr Othman chose to make her passion for Kung Fu beginning of a different story, Despite the difficulties, she ascended the podium at the Egypt Open Championship.

Egypt – At a time when many of her peers are occupied with different interests, Malak Amr Othman chose to carve her own path on the Kung Fu mat, searching for a dream bigger than just a medal.
Player Malak Amr Othman, a Kung Fu athlete at Assiut Sports Club, won first place and the gold medal in the Egypt Open Championship held at Cairo International Stadium from 22 August to 26 August 2026, continuing her journey on the podium, while preparing for national team qualifiers with the dream of representing Egypt before her eyes.
Although she has not yet exceeded fifteen years of age, she possesses years of training and competition in Kung Fu. She began practicing the sport at the age of six, before joining training more seriously over the past five years, turning sport from merely an activity into a path through which she seeks to achieve further accomplishments.
Malak Othman is studying in the third preparatory grade and has trained within Assiut Sports Club, where she succeeded during her participations in achieving advanced positions. She points out that the first championship she participated in was the Assiut Cup, while her latest achievement came with winning the gold of the Egypt Open Championship at Cairo Stadium.
She confirms that her participations in the Kung Fu championships she has entered ended with achieving first place, which gave her additional motivation to continue training and competing, and to strive to reach a level that qualifies her to represent the national team.
"Practicing Kung Fu Helped Me Develop My Personality"
Her choice of Kung Fu came within a family framework, as her father had previously practiced training, and her siblings also practiced the sport, but they did not continue training regularly as they grew older, while Malak continued her path until Kung Fu became an essential part of her life.
Malak Othman says that the beginning was not easy, but with time she began to enjoy Kung Fu, and she sees in it a different experience that helped her develop herself athletically and personally. She believes that practicing Kung Fu did not only give her fitness and strength, but had a clear impact on her personality, confirming that she became more self-confident and more capable of facing different situations.
She explained that practicing sports helped her build a stronger personality and also made her feel greater ability to move and face daily life without fear, noting that Kung Fu maintains health, fitness, focus, and strength.
Malak Othman faced some comments from her schoolmates because of her choice to practice Kung Fu, which they see as more powerful or unsuitable for girls. Some suggested she practice swimming, volleyball, or other sports, but those comments did not change her choice. She held on to the sport she chose and continued training and competing until she reached the podiums.
Championship Participation and Challenges She Faced
With her participation in championships outside Assiut, her family was present by her side, accompanying her during travel and competitions, which provided her with support and backing. The family also keenly coordinated with the school when championships coincided with study schedules, by providing documentation indicating her participation in competitions, ensuring she continues her studies without affecting her grades.
After winning the gold of the Egypt Open Kung Fu Championship, Malak looks forward to continuing training and preparing for the next stage, which is entering the national team qualifiers, hoping to reach the national team ranks and represent Egypt.
Between a new gold medal and a greater ambition, Malak Amr Othman continues her athletic journey in Kung Fu, relying on years of training and her family's support, and believing that her young age is not an obstacle to achieving her dream of competing and reaching a higher level in the sport.
