Nabila Rmili becomes new mayor of Casablanca
Nabila Rmili of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) has been elected as the new mayor of Casablanca on Monday (September 20) with 105 votes out of 130 and she becomes the first woman mayor of the financial capital of Morocco
Morocco- The city of Casablanca, the financial capital of Morocco, elected its first female mayor on Monday. 47-year-old Nabila Rmili, Regional Director of Health in Casablanca since 2016, becomes the new mayor of the city. She will serve as mayor of the city for the next five years.
Nabila Rmili is the second woman to be elected mayor of a major city in Morocco, after Fatima Zahra Mansouri, previously mayor of Marrakesh.
