Qamishlo – All international and regional states have their benefits from the war in Syria to gain political interests. They have used the crisis as a tool of pressure against the people of Syria instead of solving it. The Democratic Nation Project is considered the solution to this crisis, but the states continue to fight democracy because they have common interests. Derya Remezan, a member of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) office in the Cizre region, spoke to our news agency about the latest developments in Syria.  

Smear campaigns

Stating that the crisis broke out in Syria still continues, Derya Remezan said, “All talks held in Geneva, Sochi and Astana failed. All states interested in the crisis in Syria have not been able to come together to permanently solve the Syrian crisis. The Syrian government has already become an instrument in the hands of states such as Russia and Iran and cannot protect its territory against the Turkish state. The Syrian regime disregards the political situation in Syria and has no solution. Recently, many smear campaigns claiming that the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian regime reached an agreement on over handing over some regions have been launched. However, this is not true.  For this reason, it is not possible to have a solution in the shadow of the Syrian regime.”

“They act according to their interests”

Emphasizing that the guarantors such as the USA, Russia, and regional states such as Iran and Turkey have controlled the region and acted according to their interests for decades, Derya Remezan continued to talk as follows: “These powers want Syria to be occupied. None of the powers has offered a solution so far and they have no project to solve the problem in Syria. The sovereign powers try to break up the Middle East. But we need a democratic system protecting the rights of all people to solve this crisis.”

“Our solution is ready”

“Turkey attacks the Kurds because it believes that the Kurds will have a will. We have become a model for all around the world. We have been subjected to all kinds of war and massacres in 10 years. The people in Syria come to our region to live safely under the umbrella of the Democratic Nation,” Derya Remezan said, “We must unite to protect the people. We should offer a solution against the dominant system. We are a part of Syria and we want to have a decentralized and democratic Syria. Our project is ready for the solution of the Syrian crisis and we will solve it.”
