Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairperson Gamze Akkuş İlgezdi called on the international communities and all women of the world to be in solidarity with Afghan women left alone in the Taliban’s barbarism. Labour Party (EMEP) Deputy Chairperson Selma Gürkan pointed out that the gains of women cannot be a matter of negotiation.

News Center- Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairperson Gamze Akkuş İlgezdi issued a press statement and called on the international communities and all women of the world to be in solidarity with Afghan women, who don’t want to live under the control of the Taliban.

“I call on the international communities and all women of the world to be in solidarity with Afghan women left alone in the Taliban’s barbarism,” Gamze Akkuş İlgezdi wrote in the statement, adding that all Afghan women are currently living under serious threat because of the Taliban. “As women, we don’t want to listen to the world’s male leaders claiming that “the Taliban have changed”. We deeply feel the concerns and fears of Afghan women. We cannot see what is happening in Afghanistan as a domestic or regional issue. All democratic countries, those who support human rights and advocate gender equality have to be in solidarity with Afghan women and be their voice.”

EMEP: The gains of women cannot be a matter of negotiation

Labour Party (EMEP) Deputy Chairperson Selma Gürkan also issued a written statement on the situation of Afghan women. “Women of Turkey are responsible to not allow the US imperialism and the Taliban’s barbarity take away the lives of Afghan women and to listen to the calls of Afghan women for solidarity,” Selma Gürkan wrote in the statement that they will be in solidarity with the female Afghan refugees. “All Afghan women, who have been threatened by the Taliban should be granted unconditional asylum by all countries in the region, European countries and the United States. No country, particularly Turkey, should establish diplomatic ties with the Taliban. The gains of women cannot be a matter of any negotiation.”
