Call for national unity from KNK Co-chair Zeynep Murad
Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Co-chair Zeynep Murad issued a press statement about her visits to Federal Kurdistan Region. Emphasizing the importance of ensuring national unity in the region, Zeynep Murad called on the regional political authorities to take a stand against Turkish military operations in the region.
News Center- Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Co-chair Zeynep Murad held a series of meetings in the Federal Kurdistan Region about Turkish military operations launched in the region since April 23. Zeynep Murad held meetings with political parties and authorities.
Zeynep Murad underlined that they demanded a meeting with KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) representatives or officials but they didn’t receive any answer from them. “We didn’t receive any positive or negative response. They didn’t explain why they did not respond,” Zeynep Murad said their doors are open to every party or groups that want to hold meetings with them.
Call for common attitude and action to all segments
Zeynep Murad called for national unity and said, “Problems can be solved through dialogue at the negotiating table away from civil war. Due to the lack of unity and solidarity, the defense fronts in Kurdistan are weakening. As KNK, we tried to meet with all Kurdish political parties, parliamentarians, organizations, intellectuals, press outlets, and women's organizations in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region. All Kurdish political parties must take a stand against attacks and occupation.”
