Masoumeh Askari temporarily released from Evin Prison
Masoumeh Askari, a retired teacher who was imprisoned in the women’s ward of Evin Prison, has been temporarily released from Evin Prison in Iran due to her health problems. Although doctors demanded her release four months ago, her release was blocked for months due to political reasons.
Tehran - Masoumeh Askari, a retired teacher who was imprisoned in the women’s ward of Evin Prison, was arrested in Tehran on August 2, 2019, during the nationwide protests last August and she was sentenced to 5 years in prison in 2019. The doctors demanded her release four months ago due to her health problems; however, her release was blocked for months due to political reasons.
After four months, Masoumeh Askari has been temporarily released from Evin Prison.
