Istanbul – The sixth hearing of the trial opened against journalist Sadiye Eser, Mezopotamya News Agency (MA) reporter Sadık Topaloğlu on charges of “being members of an illegal organization” was held by the Istanbul 22nd High Criminal Court. Journalist Sadiye Eser and her lawyers Ayşe Acinikli, Sercan Korkmaz and Özcan Kılıç attended the hearing while Sadık Topaloğlu didn’t. Sadiye Eser demanded the travel abroad ban against her be lifted. But her demand was rejected by the court. The court postponed the hearing to January 11, 2022.
Hearing of Eren Keskin and Reyhan Çapan also postponed
Eren Keskin, co-editor-in-chief of Özgür Gündem newspaper, which was closed down by a statutory decree, and Reyhan Çapan, the former managing editor of the newspaper, also appeared in the court today. Eren Keskin and Reyhan Çapan didn’t attend the hearing. The court postponed the hearing.
