Court rules release of all detainees in Şenyaşar trial
A Turkish court has ruled the release of all detainees in the trial regarding the attack on the Şenyaşar family in Riha (Urfa).
News Center- The relatives and bodyguards of former AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız attacked the Şenyaşar family in the Suruç (Kurdish: Pirsûs) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, killing the husband and two sons of Emine Şenyaşar.
Two separate investigations were launched into the attack on the Şenyaşar family, which started at their store and continued at the hospital. The two investigations were later merged. The 8th hearing of the trial against 30 people, four of them (Fadıl Şenyaşar, Enver Yıldız, Mekail Şimşek and Celal Yıldız) arrested pending the trial, was held Friday at the Malatya 3rd High Criminal Court.
Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack, did not attend the hearing due to her health problems while her lawyers were present. Fadıl Şenyaşar, whose father and two brothers were killed in the attack, Enver Yıldız, Mekail Şimşek and Celal Yıldız attended the hearing through Audio-Visual Information System (SEGBİS).
At the hearing, the prosecutor demanded the release of all detainees. The lawyers of the Şenyaşar family demanded the release of Fadıl Şenyaşar.
The court ruled the release of all detainees on the condition of house arrest.
