Shahrizor- Nazenin Mehmud sells colorful fabrics used to sew traditional clothes in her shop located in the Shahrizor region of the Kurdistan Region. She is also a tailor sewing traditional clothes in her shop.
Every day, Nazenin Mehmud opens her shop at 9:00 am and sews clothes until 23:00 pm. She tells us how she loves to sew traditional Kurdish clothes.
“All women are creative”
“I love working here. All women are creative and they should start their own businesses. I believe that everyone who wants to work and produce will definitely start their own business with their creativity,” she told NuJINHA.
She has worked for eight years
Stating that she is happy to serve and preserve her culture, Nazenin Mehmud said, “I feel happy when I make women happy. I sell the fabrics at very low prices because I know that women face financial difficulties. All of my customers are women and they like me. I have been working here for eight years. I sew traditional clothes and sell colorful fabrics in my shop to stand on my own feet.”
