Beekeeper Ghanchegol Karimi wants to provide employment opportunities for Afghan women
Ghanchegol Karimi is a beekeeper in the Herat city of Afghanistan. She started beekeeping by borrowing a beehive and now she has a honey bee farm.

Ghanchegol Karimi, the mother of seven, started beekeeping by borrowing a beehive in the Herat city of Afghanistan two years ago. She put the beehive on the roof of her house. Now she has the biggest honey bee farm in the city.
She wants to provide employment opportunities for women
After taking courses organized by a women’s organization, she began her career in beekeeping. Despite the recent political developments in the country, she keeps working and hopes to be the best beekeeper and have the biggest honey bee farm in the country. She wants to encourage women to participate in the labor force by providing employment opportunities for them.
