-Shingal--The events of the 74th Ferman in Shingal and the ISIS attack that accompanied it responsible for widespread violations and crimes against humanity--stand as a pivotal moment in Yazidi collective memory,having left a human wound that remains present to this day.

The voice of peoples' melodies throughout history forms an essential pillar of cultural beauty and the arts of communities, as culture and art are buitt upon a community's stories and experiences,shaping its collective memory and hstory, As the 74th  anniversary of the genocide in Shingal approaches,numerous events and activites are being held to mark the occasion.

 In this context,the Sitiya Nexşa troupe,a musical and folkloric group,presented a dance titled "The Dance of Existence"as part of a special program.Through the dance,Yazidi girls express their commitment to their identity and existence,while Yazidi mothers in the program speak to their identity and existence, while Yazidi mothers in the program speak to their children about the stories of the 2014 genocide so that it remains alive in memory.the children taking part in this cultural and artistic work, in order to preserve their heritage, sing in their language through songs of resistance.

Speaking about the goal of the work, Nesrin Ahmed, amember of the culture and arts department of the Sitiya Nexşa troupe, says:"We had been preparing for this dance for a while,and through it , we wanted to express the presence of women, because they were the ones most subjected to injustice and oppression during the tragedy.  up."

So through this dance,we wanted to embody women's existence and their rising.

"We Don't Want Our Culture and Faith to Be lost"

For her part,Newroz Ahmed, a member of the culture and arts department at Sitiya Nexşa,explained that this program was specially prepared to mark the 74th anniversary of the Ferman:"In this program,our mothers recounted the stories of the women who lived through the Ferman,spoke about their lives,and shared the pain and suffering Yazidi women endured.We too wanted to revive the memory of the Ferman with our own voices, and to come together in moments of joy and sorrow on one stage."

She added: "We made sure to prepare this program in a spirit that keeps what happened alive in the memory of every Yazidi girl and boy. On the day of the Ferman, ISIS abducted a large number of Yazidi women and sold them in markets. We hope this memory stays alive in the consciousness of Yazidi generations, so the world knows the scale of the tragedy this community endured."

She continued: "As Yazidi girls, we seek to showcase our history, our clothing, our traditional songs, our culture, and our beliefs. We don't want our culture erased or our beliefs forgotten. Yazidis must be able to revive their ancient history, culture, and beliefs, and to express them and hold on to them.

"We Will Fulfill All the Responsibities Placed Upon US

For her part, troupe member Jilan Ezidi said they had been training on the program's songs for some time: "Mothers and children take part in this program. The mothers told us the stories of the road and what they witnessed with their own eyes during those days, and we, as the Sitiya Nexşa troupe, offered our melodies to the children — and through that, we came to know our culture and religion more deeply, and saw clearly what our Yazidi community went through. Our mothers introduced us to Yazidi culture, and we are ready to fulfill all the duties and responsibilities placed upon us."

As the 74th anniversary of the Ferman approaches, the Sitiya Nexşa troupe is presenting "The Dance of Existence" to the Yazidi community in many locations.
