Lilith is a German-Kurdish women group which was founded in 1999 by Gabriele Thierkopf and Şehriban Özdemir. In 2003, when the group was complete, they changed their name from Göğün Yarısı (Half the Sky) into the shorter name “Lilith“. The five artists, Şehriban Özdemir, Gabriele Thierkopf, Satı Sarıyar, Maviş Güneşer, Luise Blum are two German, two Kurdish and one Turkish-Alevi woman.
