Movie of the day: The Cut
The Cut tells the story of the Manoogian family during the Armenian genocide. It tells how the suffering of the peoples, who were subjected to genocide, is the same.
The film starts by showing how life was for a middle-class Armenian family in the city of Mardin, where the Manoogian family used to live. Although Armenians in the city heard stories of disappearing men from different villages, they tried to be optimistic. The film is about the life and experiences of a young Armenian by the name of Nazareth Manoogian.
Although The Cut tells a story about the Armenian Genocide, when you watch the film, you feel like you watch the genocide committed against the Yazidis on August 3, 2014. You remember the genocide committed against millions of Armenians, Jews, and Yazidis. While watching the film, you visit many cities such as Serêkaniyê, Kobanî, Antep, Afrîn, and Aleppo and countries such as Syria, Cuba, and the USA.
The Cut is a film worth watching despite many criticisms.
