Manbij- Women living in IDPs camps face many difficulties. The ongoing Turkish attacks on North and East Syria make their lives more difficult. The displaced women say they will resist all kinds of attacks to the end.
‘We will resist attacks’
Manbij has hosted many displaced people since it was liberated from ISIS. Emşa El-Hemîd El-Hesen has been living in an IDPs camp in Manbij since she was forcibly displaced from the city of Dayr Hafir. “Although Dayr Hafir is liberated, we cannot return due to difficult living conditions. For this reason, I live in the camp with my daughter. We lost all of our relatives. We face many difficulties in the camp, especially in winter. All tents in the camps must be changed. We need many materials to survive the winter. In addition to these difficulties, the Turkish attacks make our lives more difficult. But we will resist attacks,” she told NuJINHA.
‘We reject threats’
Zehra El-Mele is another displaced woman from the city of Meskena. Underling that the living conditions in the city of Meskena are not good, she said, “There is no water or electricity. There is nothing to encourage us to return. We came to Manbij to have a safer life. We reject the threats of the Turkish state.”
‘We will not migrate again’
Hena Casim left the city of Dayr Hafir six years ago in order to escape from conflicts and clashes. In the interview with NuJINHA, she said, “We slept outside for months until we arrived in Manbij. We came to Manbij to have a safe life. Despite the difficult living conditions, attacks, threats and the lack of aid from humanitarian aid organizations, we live in peace. Peace was what we looked for. We condemn the ongoing Turkish attacks on North and East Syria. We will resist attacks and stand by the defense forces. We will not migrate again.”
