NECWA RAHIM
Algeria-Despite the presence of many talents in the province of Tebessa, located in the east of Algeria, the marginalization and absence of most of these young abilities and talents prompted the two young women, Bokra Tounsi and Safa Belkacem, to launch an initiative called “Coffee Cast 12” with a group of young people interested in podcast audio and video editing techniques. NuJınha spoke to these two young women about their initiative.
They motivate young people
Short film director, Bokra Tounsi, holding a master's graduate from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Television, Film and Theatre, told NuJINHA, “The initiative was launched last February to reveal the talents of young people in the podcasting in Tebessa. There are many talented young people, have achieved great national and international successes but they are invisible. For this reason, we decided to launch a podcast on social media platforms to promote the achievements of young people and motivate them to develop new projects in various fields.”
Speaking about their podcast episodes, Bokra Tounsi said, “Since we launched the podcast episodes, eight digital contents have been created in many fields such as sports, graphic design, journalism, participation in the feminist struggle, photography. The podcast episodes will motivate young people to introduce themselves and learn about the capabilities and talents of young people living in other cities. I spoke to Safaa Belkacem about the possibility of launching an initiative for young people and students. She welcomed the idea and has made great efforts since the beginning of this initiative.”
Safaa Belkacem, a student at the Department of English, thinks that such initiatives are important for local economic development and to introduce youth activities in the province. She told us that she loves journalism and is interested in podcasting and directing.
