60 paintings of 14 women artists exhibited in Kobanê
60 paintings of 14 women artists have been displayed at an exhibition held in Kobanê.
Kobanê –The Baqi Khedo Center for Culture and Art has held its third exhibition named “The Panorama of Rojava” in Kobanê. 60 paintings of 14 women artists have been displayed at the exhibition held with the motto, “Our colors are stronger than your weapons”. The women artists portrayed women fighters, Kurdish women and mothers and nature in their paintings.
Paintings reflect many issues
Nûhan Cimo, an art teacher at the Baqi Khedo Center for Culture and Art, said, “Painting is an important art. We can reflect many social issues by using colors and drawing. This is our third exhibition. Our students find an opportunity to display their artworks at the exhibition. The name of the exhibition is the Panorama of Rojava since all paintings are about Rojava. There is a painting of Jina Mahsa Amini, who was killed in Iran.”

Young painter Cîhan Şahîn portrayed Jina Mahsa Amini in one of her paintings. “I have participated in this exhibition for the second time. This year, my four paintings are displayed at the exhibition. In my paintings, I portrayed Kurdish pioneers such as Qadî Mihemed, Şêx Seyîd, Yılmaz Güney and Jina Mahsa Amini. I portrayed Jina Mahsa Amini to support the uprising in Iran and Rojhilat Kurdistan. I want to conclude my speech by saying, ‘jin, jiyan, azadî’ to express my support to the protests in Iran and Rojhilat Kurdistan.”
The exhibition will last three days.
