11 people detained in Amed released
11 people, who were taken into custody in Amed (Diyarbakır) on November 26 as part of an investigation launched in Eskişehir, were released last night. The people detained in Istanbul are expected to be referred to the courthouse today.
News Center- On November 26, 2024, Turkish police conducted dawn house raids in many cities such as Amed , Şirnex, Dêrsim, Bedlîs, Riha, İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir and Çanakkale, detained 231 people, including journalists, writers as part of investigations launched in many cities.
11 people, who were taken into custody in Amed (Diyarbakır) as part of an investigation launched by the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, were referred to the Diyarbakır Courthouse on Thursday.
Baver Yoldaş, coordinator of Pirtûkakurdî, and Figen Mamedoğlu Alp were released after giving their statement to the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office through Audio-Visual Information System (SEGBİS). Mesopotamia Women Journalists’ Association (MKG) President Roza Metina, caricaturist Doğan Güzel, writer and translator Ömer Barasi and Berfin Atlı were referred to the court to be released under judicial control. Then, they were also released.
Ceyhun Tağu, Abdurrahman Aydın, Ahmet Hicri İzgören, Emrah Kelekçiler and Ahmet Sümbül were referred to the court to be arrested. The court issued their release.
The people detained in Istanbul on November 26 and then transferred to Eskişehir are expected to be referred to the Eskişehir Courthouse today.
