Makhmour- “The freedom of leader Apo is our freedom,” said women of the Makhmour Martyr Rustem Cudi Camp (Makhmour Refugee Camp), reacting to the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan in the prison island of Imrali for more than 25 years.

‘Their silence shows their cooperation’

“An aggravated isolation has been imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan for more than 25 years,” said Amîna Piranî, one of the women of the camp. “The isolation is imposed not only on leader Apo but also all people. This isolation is unacceptable from both human and social aspects. Some people describe themselves as human rights defenders but remain silent against this aggravated isolation. Their silence shows their cooperation. The Democratic Nation system formed by leader Apo is a solution to all attacks, occupations and crises in the Middle East. Therefore, this isolation must be broken and leader Apo's physical freedom must be ensured.”

Kurdish leader Abdullan Öcalan is the key to the solution, Xeyîç Gokalp said, adding, “Since leader Apo is the key to the solution for all problems, the isolation imposed on him has been aggravated. Leader Apo is banned from lawyer and family visits on the grounds of disciplinary punishments. The isolation aims to break the bond between the people and leader Apo but nothing can break our bond with leader Apo. We will struggle more against the isolation imposed on him. His thoughts and philosophy have already spread all around the world. Women should struggle to ensure the physical freedom of leader Apo. Leader Apo wages a great resistance in the prison island of Imrali. As the Kurdish people, we should resist and struggle for his freedom. We will resist and struggle for his freedom.”

‘Leader Apo is the leader of humanity’

Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan is the leader of humanity, Medîna Kara said, condemning the isolation imposed on him. “We have received no information from him for four years. Kurdish people of all ages demand his freedom. The isolation imposed on him has been intensified to prevent his thoughts and philosophy from spreading. As the people of Makhmour, we will struggle more to ensure his physical freedom. All people should rise up and ensure his freedom.”
