‘Women have waged an incomparable resistance against the conspiracy’

“Women have waged an incomparable resistance against the conspiracy,” said Zehra Al-Elî, condemning the international conspiracy against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan on February 15, 1999.

Hasakah- In an interview with NuJINHA, Zehra Al-Elî, Co-chair of the Peoples’ Assembly in Hasakah, evaluated the international conspiracy against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan on February 15, 1999. Noting that the conspiracy violated international law, she said, “The struggle of the Kurdish people frustrated the conspiracy. The isolation imposed on him for years is a part of the conspiracy because it aims to prevent the spread of his philosophy. However, the conspirators' plans failed because his philosophy and ideology have already spread all over the world.”

‘The aim of the isolation is to break the will of women’

Zehra Al-Elî thinks that the isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan in Imrali prison actually targets women. “The attacks on the pioneering women are the continuation of the international conspiracy against leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan). Kurdish women play a fundamental role in building an equal, ethical and free society. They have played a leading role in the women’s revolution against ISIS in Rojava. They have waged an incomparable resistance for freedom of leader Öcalan and against the international conspiracy against him. That’s why they are targeted. The aim of the isolation is to break the will of women but women are determined to resist and struggle for victory.”

‘People took a breath in this system’

Abdullah Öcalan demands freedom for all people against oppression and slavery, Zehra Al-Elî noted, adding, “A single system was imposed on the people of the region for years and that system aimed to enslave the whole society and people. When leader Apo’s system based on democracy (in North and East Syria) was put into practice, people took a breath. People began to build a democratic and free life in this system. For this reason, the Kurdish people see February 15 as a dark day and take to the streets on February 15 every year to demand the physical freedom of leader Apo.”

‘They are afraid of free women

Speaking about the ongoing attacks on North and East Syria, Zehra Al-Elî said, “The ongoing attacks on North and East Syria and on pioneering women and the ongoing international silence show that the international conspiracy continues and how the conspirators are afraid of free women. We want to say that we are aware of the plans of the states and that we are determined to resist and struggle until we ensure the physical freedom of leader Öcalan.”
