Women fined for participating in march on November 25
Women participating in the march held in Van to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, have been fined.
News Center - The women participating in the march held by the Free Women’s Movement (Kurdish: Tevgera Jinên Azad –TJA) in Van province on November 25 to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, have been fined 581 Turkish liras on charges of “violating Turkish Misdemeanor Law”.
On November 25, 2022, the women gathered in front of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) headquarters in Van to march; however, police did not allow them. After waiting for a long time, the women marched despite the police barriers. Police used tear gas against the women.
