Turkish-backed faction destroys sacred place of Yazidis in Afrin
The members of the Ahrar al-Sharqiya affiliated to the Turkey-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) destroyed the tomb of “Melek Adi”, one of the sacred places of Yazidis in Afrin.
News Center- Before the occupation of the Turkish state, more than 20,000 Yazidis lived in Afrin. During the operation to occupy Afrin that started on January 20, 2018, the Turkish state and its mercenaries first targeted the Yazidis living in Afrin. The Yazidis in the city were kidnapped, killed and arrested and their sacred places were destroyed and some Yazidis were forced to convert to Islam. Now, only 2000 Yazidis live in the city and they still face such inhuman practices by the Turkish state and its mercenaries.
According to local sources, the members of the Ahrar al-Sharqiya affiliated to the Turkey-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) destroyed the tomb of “Melek Adi” in the Qibare village of Afrin's Shera district. The tomb is one of the sacred places of the Yazidis in Afrin.
Two days ago, two young people in the same village were forced to convert to Islam by the members of the Ahrar al-Sharqiya.
