‘The murderer of Evin left the scene by walking away’
Abdullah Şeyhmusoğlu murdered Evin Demirtaş in the city of Amed on October 23. “He did not flee. He was comfortable and left the scene by walking," the witnesses said.

Amed (Diyarbakır)- On October 23, 2024, Abdullah Şeyhmusoğlu murdered Evin (Aslı) Demirtaş in the Huzurevleri neighborhood of Amed’s Kayapınar district. Before being murdered, Evin Demirtaş, who had an Islamic marriage contract with Abdullah Şeyhmusoğlu, left Abdullah Şeyhmusoğlu, who used violence against her violence by him for years.
‘The police and ambulance arrived at the scene late’
The witnesses told NuJINHA that Abdullah Şeyhmusoğlu waited for Evin at a teahouse for about two hours. “The man waited for her at a teahouse for hours. When he saw Evin, he started chasing her. At first, we did not understand what was going on but understood when we heard gunshots,” a witness told us. “After killing her, he was very comfortable, leaving the scene by walking away. We reported the incident to the police; however, the police and ambulance arrived at the scene late.”
She had received threats
Evin Demirtaş died at the scene and she was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy. The perpetrator has not been arrested yet. The relatives of Evin Demirtaş told us that she had had an Islamic marriage contact with Abdullah Şeyhmusoğlu as a second wife; however, she left him last year because she was subjected to both physical and psychological violence by him. Evin Demirtaş moved from Bismil to Amed after leaving Abdullah Şeyhmusoğlu. In Amed, she received threats. According to sources, Abdullah Şeyhmusoğlu also used violence against his other wife.
