Mahmonir Molaei-Rad closes her Instagram account 'for some reason'
Mahmonir Molaei-Rad, the mother of Kian Pirfalak, a nine-year-old boy who was killed during nationwide protests in 2022, announced Wednesday that she had to close her Instagram account “for some reason”.

In a statement on Instagram, she said, “I am Mahmonir Molaei-Rad, the mother of Kian Pirfalak. For some reason, I have to close my account. I created my Instagram account to keep alive the name and memory of my beloved Kian and Pouya and it is my only official account.”
After publishing this statement, her Instagram account was inaccessible.
Kian Pirfalak, nine-year-old boy, was shot and killed by Iran’s government security forces while sitting in his parents' vehicle in Izeh on November 16, 2022, during the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” uprising.
Pouya Bakhtiari, cousin of Mahmonir Molaei-Rad, was shot and killed by Iran’s security forces on November 16, 2019 in Karaj during the 2019 protests in Iran.
