News Center- The Yazidi Free Women’s Movement (TAJÊ) has released a statement condemning the visit of Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdoğan to Iraq and the agreement by the Turkish state and the Iraqi government.
The statement read by TAJÊ Spokesperson Riham Hiço in Sinun, a town of Shengal (Sinjar). “The attacks on Shengal have been intensifying after the visit of Erdoğan,” the statement said. “The Turkish state aims to drag Iraq into its own dirty plans and make it a partner. We call on Iraq not to become a partner with the Turkish state against its own people. Erdoğan’s visit has a dirty purpose. Shengal and Bashur Kurdistan (Southern Kurdistan) are part of Iraq. The Turkish soldiers must withdraw from Iraqi territory.”
‘All political parties in Bashur are responsible for the Turkish attacks’
Recalling the practices of Saddam Hussein, who was the enemy of the Kurdish people, the statement said, “The current Iraqi government should not perform Saddam Hussein's practices and not become a partner of the Turkish state. Do not support the Turkish state. All political parties in Bashur are responsible for the Turkish attacks. The KDP has been already involved in the dirty plans of the Turkish state. It is no different from the Turkish state. We condemn the silence of the political parties in Bashur against these attacks.”
‘The women of Shengal never bow down’
The attacks on the PKK are the attacks on the Kurdish people, the statement emphasized. “We are the real owners of these lands. The women of Shengal never bow down and they will not bow down. The women of Shengal will keep resisting.”
