Lebanon — The training session discussed the concept of Jineology and its role in confronting sexism, focusing on strengthening the intellectual and organizational awareness of Star Congress members and developing women's ability to analyze reality and understand the impact of authoritarian mentality on their issues.

The Training Committee of the Star Congress – Lebanon organized today, Friday, September 18, within the Coordination, a training session for Star Congress members in Lebanon titled "Why Jineology? To Confront Sexism, Which Represents Authoritarian Ideology," as part of a series of trainings the committee continues to organize with the aim of strengthening knowledge and awareness among women.

The trainings gain importance in the work path of the Star Congress, as they contribute to developing the intellectual and organizational awareness of members, opening spaces for discussion on women's and societal issues, in addition to developing the ability to read reality and analyze the problems facing women.

The training addressed the concept of Jineology ("the science of woman") and the importance of developing knowledge that stems from the reality of women and their historical and social experiences, along with examining the concept of sexism and its relationship to authoritarian mentality and the forms of domination to which women have been subjected throughout history.

Participants also discussed the relationship between Jineology and feminist movements, and the experiences that women have accumulated during different stages of their struggle, in addition to the importance of developing social sciences from a perspective that contributes to understanding women's and societal issues and finding ways for change.

The training also touched on a number of issues related to women's freedom, violence and discrimination, and the impact of authoritarian mentality on social relations, while emphasizing the importance of knowledge and organization in developing women's struggle and transforming theoretical issues into social practice.

The training comes within a continuous training series organized by the Training Committee of the Star Congress – Lebanon within the Coordination, which aims to strengthen knowledge and awareness among members, develop intellectual and organizational capabilities, and continue discussion on women's issues and ways to achieve their freedom.
