Sit-in protest for justice: There is a sinking ship!

On the 597th day of their sit-in protest for justice, the Şenyaşar family drew attention to the detention of journalists and said that the detention of journalists means their voices have been silenced.

Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 597th day.

In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse to hold their sit-in protest by hanging a banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family, justice for everyone,” on the concrete barriers.

Stating that the upcoming elections will determine the fate of Turkey, Ferit Şenyaşar said, “All political parties in Turkey follow the mother’s struggle for justice and her demand for justice has been the demand of all people.” Speaking about the recent detention of journalists, Ferit Şenyaşar said that the aim of the detention is to silence their voices.

“There is a sinking ship”

“No order can survive by persecuting. There is a sinking ship in Urfa and it is the ship of justice. The winter is approaching and general elections are upcoming. Those who remain silent against this persecution will lose in Urfa, in Turkey,” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account.
