News Center— The increasing instances of temporary release in exchange for high financial bail in Iran have sparked rights-based debate regarding the fairness of judicial procedures and the disparity in the capacity to pay bail, amid criticism of the denial of sufficient legal communication for detainees during investigations.

The Human Rights Network of Kurdistan announced the provisional release of the three Kurdish activists—Kajal Rahmani, her brother Daniel Rahmani, and her husband Isa Faizi—after they paid substantial financial bail at the Kamyaran and Sanandaj prisons, pending the completion of judicial proceedings. During their detention, the family members faced charges of "belonging to opposition groups abroad" and were denied the right to communicate with legal counsel throughout the investigation period.

Kajal Rahmani and her brother Daniel were arrested following a raid conducted by Ministry of Intelligence forces on the family home in Kamyaran, while Isa Faizi, Kajal's husband, was arrested after he went to the press office of the Intelligence Directorate to inquire about her situation.

After Kajal spent a day in solitary confinement at the Kamyaran center, she was transferred to the women's wing of the Sanandaj Correctional Facility, where she undertook a hunger strike for 18 days in protest against her illegal detention, mistreatment, and the pressure exerted by interrogators, before ending the strike at her family's request.
