Raheleh Rahemipour deprived of treatment despite her deteriorating health
Raheleh Rahemipour, a human rights activist imprisoned in Evin prison, has been deprived of treatment although her health has been deteriorating.

News Center- Raheleh Rahemipour, a human rights activist imprisoned in the women’s ward of Evin Prison, has been deprived of treatment although her health has been deteriorating.
Despite suffering from multiple health problems, including a severe brain tumor, she has been denied treatment outside of the prison by the prosecutor and prison authorities.
Medical reports submitted to the Legal Medicine Commission detail the health problems suffered by her such as thalassemia minor, heart disease (requiring three angioplasties), an acute brain tumor, high blood pressure, cataracts and diabetes.
Raheleh Rahemipour has launched campaigns to search for her forcibly disappeared family members and for other victims of summary execution and enforced disappearance in Iran.
Raheleh Rahemipour was first arrested in November 2019 and was later released. In 2020, the Revolutionary Court of Tehran sentenced her to six years and two months in prison on charges of “assembly and collusion” and “propaganda against the state.”
In November 2023, she was rearrested and transferred to Evin prison to serve her five-year prison sentence.
