‘President Erdoğan insult case’ filed against Emine Şenyaşar
A case has been filed against Emine Şenyaşar, who has been seeking justice for years, for allegedly “insulting” Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdoğan.
News Center- A “President Erdoğan insult case” has been filed against Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of former AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç (Kurdish: Pirsûs) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018.
Emine Şenyaşar held a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse for 846 days to demand justice for her killed relatives. Then, she began to hold her sit-in protest in front of the building of the Ministry of Justice in Ankara. Her sit-in protest in Ankara has entered its 84th day today.
According to the received reports, the Urfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment against Emine Şenyaşar on charges of “insulting” Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdoğan.
First hearing on October 31
The first hearing of the case will be held on October 31. Since March 9, 2021, 31 investigations have been launched against Emine Şenyaşar on charges of “insulting”. Emine Şenyaşar faces 11 insult cases.
